Hi Dana,

This shouldn't be an issue. Because you have a baseboard, the bookcase will not be flush against the wall. Many parents continue to use our Spruce Tree bookcase in this manner. For a visual example, you can take a look at how Coos and Ahhs created this nursery for Adela and Henry:

I hope this information has been helpful for you. I am setting this ticket to solved for now, but feel free to reply to this e-mail at any time to receive additional support on this issue - your reply will automatically reopen the ticket! Thank you.

would it be safe to mount it "not flush" and over the baseboard or flush but above the baseboard?  (who doesn't have baseboards in their house?!)

    Hi Janna,

As shown in the links above, you will be able to mount the tree to the wall that has a base board. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello, I purchased the spruce bookcase and found that the brackets were not sufficient for safely securing the bookcase to the wall. This bookshelf is very heavy the screws and brackets are chinsy. In addition, the tree will not fit snugly against the wall because of our baseboards. The brackets provided do not work at all unless the bookshelf is flush against the wall. One of your photos online show the tree sitting on the floor against against a wall WITH baseboards pictured. Do you have a solution for this problem? If not, I will have to return. Thank you-Nora
